Restrictions and Aftercare

Restrictions for facial treatments

  • Any infection of the skin (herpes simplex, inflamed acne)
  • Sunburn, please allow your skin to calm down before treatment
  • Allergies, many products contain nut and/ or essential oils
  • Cosmetic procedures; Botox: please allow minimum of four weeks before having a facial treatment. Fillers and surgery: please seek advice from your doctor if it is safe for you to have a facial treatment

After care for facial treatments

  • You may experience breakouts or redness due to stimulation of the skin. You may experience a reaction to some of the products if your skin is sensitive. You can relief symptoms by applying cold compress on the skin and avoiding heat (sauna, steam room). Avoid using any products until the skin has calmed down. In case of a severe reaction (allergy) please seek medical advice from you doctor and inform your therapist
  • Avoid washing your face after the treatment for the remainder of the day.
  • Avoid using make up for the following 24 hours

General restrictions

There are several conditions that may restrict or completely prevent a treatment. Most common restrictions are:

  • High/ low blood pressure
  • Heart conditions or cancer (pacemaker, arrhythmia)
  • Any infections (herpes simplex, fever)
  • Any skin disease (athletes foot, psoriasis)
  • Trapped, pinched or inflamed nerve
  • Any chronic conditions or diseases
  • Osteoporosis, arthritis or rheumatism
  • Fractures or recent operations
  • Some medications
  • Any undiagnosed lumps or bumps
  • Any undiagnosed pain

General aftercare

Occasionally you may experience reactions when the body begins its healing process and elimination of toxins. These are common especially if there is a long period of time between treatments. The reaction may include:

  • Headaches
  • Frequent visit to toilet
  • Runny nose and/ or cough
  • Tenderness of the skin and/ or muscles

You can relief the symptoms by drinking plenty of water, avoiding vigorous exercise on the day of your treatment and resting. If you experience any strong reactions (being sick, severe headache) please seek medical advice from your doctor and inform your therapist.
